About Proiect
The COSMOS Packaging Design project was a three-week initiative to create a premium container for Nuitelle’s signature night cream, aimed at capturing the product’s calming and restorative qualities. Drawing inspiration from the serenity of nighttime, the design emphasized soft contours, muted finishes, and a minimalist aesthetic to evoke a sense of tranquility and luxury. The goal was to craft packaging that not only stood out on shelves but also elevated the user’s nightly skincare ritual.
Balancing beauty with functionality, the final design included thoughtful features such as an airless pump for product preservation, a weighted base for stability, and a recyclable, dual-layer structure for sustainability. We delivered high-fidelity 3D mockups, production-ready assets, and material specifications — resulting in a refined, tactile experience that aligns seamlessly with Nuitelle’s brand and values.

Objective
To design a premium cosmetic jar for COSMOS that not only reflects the calming, restorative nature of Nuitelle’s signature night cream but also reinforces the brand’s refined, modern aesthetic. The packaging should embody a sense of quiet luxury through minimalist design, subtle textures, and elegant form, creating a sensory experience that feels both soothing and sophisticated. It must stand out on the shelf with a distinct yet understated presence, while enhancing the user’s nightly ritual through thoughtful, functional design.

Solution
We created a frosted glass jar accented with soft, brushed metallic elements — a tactile and elegant form that captures the serene essence of nighttime self-care. The design merges minimalism with subtle sophistication, using diffused surfaces and gentle curves to evoke calm and purity. By balancing visual restraint with a high-end finish, the jar stands out with quiet confidence on the shelf while offering a satisfying, intuitive user experience. Every detail was considered to enhance both usability and aesthetic presence, making the packaging an extension of the product’s restorative promise.

Outro
COSMOS proves that great design isn’t just seen — it’s felt. From initial concept to final container, we transformed Nuitelle’s night cream into a visual signature that encapsulates the brand’s essence and elevates the user experience. Every element was carefully crafted to resonate with the product’s calming nature while standing out on the shelf with elegance and simplicity. Ready to bring your next product to life? Let’s collaborate and design something unforgettable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the questions I’m asked most often — some practical, some personal, and a couple just for fun.
Tell me a little bit about yourself, Mike Maguire?
First off, no relation to Jerry Maguire, Mark McGwire, or Lizzie McGuire — although at different points in the 90s, I probably did imagine myself as a fictional sports agent, a juiced-up baseball slugger, or a clumsy middle-schooler with a catchy theme song.
Oh — you probably meant the work stuff.
I’ve always loved the mix of problem-solving and creativity that comes with building websites. When I first started experimenting with HTML and CSS, I remember the thrill of tweaking a line of code and seeing it come to life on the screen. I’ve always been analytical, but I realized early on that I also had an eye for design — combining those two things just made sense. That blend eventually became the foundation of my work today.
What keeps me passionate about this field is the feeling of building something that works well, looks good, and genuinely helps a client move their business forward. When a project comes together and the client is excited about it, that energy is unmatched.
Outside of work, music is my main outlet — discovering new bands, going to concerts, and occasionally reminiscing about my days playing guitar in a screamo band. I love trying to break 100 on the golf course, watching the Patriots on Sundays, and grabbing a workout and a burrito with my best bud on Friday nights. I also have a daughter in high school, and it’s been an absolute blessing watching her grow into a wonderful human.
Life comes with its ups and downs, but I’ve learned not to take myself too seriously. Naturally, I’ve always been drawn to humor. I’ll happily slip in a Larry David or Office one-liner, and I’ll never pass up the chance to see a standup show.
At the end of the day, business is built on relationships. I’m easygoing, enjoy meeting new people, and I genuinely enjoy the process. Reach out — I’d love to meet you. And I promise I won’t pull a Jerry and tell you to “Show me the money!”.
What’s your process?
My process always starts the same way — I learn about your business and what your project goals are. From there, I put together a project plan that makes sense for your timeline, budget, and scope. Each project takes on its own process depending on how detailed we get with each stage, but the goal is always the same: something that works well and feels right to you.
Do you do hourly or project pricing?
I do both. Most new clients start with a project price because the deliverables are clear and it keeps expectations aligned. Once we’ve worked together and trust is built, hourly usually becomes the easiest way to handle ongoing updates and new ideas.
Almost every project client I’ve worked with still works with me today. When trust starts strong, everything else falls into place.
Paper or Plastic?
Plastic, usually.
Do you outsource?
Typically, no. I’m usually able to blend my design, development, and marketing skills to deliver a project from start to finish. If a project ever calls for something very specific — like a custom API integration or illustration work — I’ll be upfront about it and introduce you to the trusted contractor before anything happens. No surprises.
Do you enjoy being a business owner?
110 percent. The freedom to choose my hours and the clients I work with is unmatched. That said, it isn’t for everyone. There’s financial pressure, unpredictable schedules, and a level of motivation you really have to generate yourself. But at the end of the day, having full control over the direction of my work and the business makes it completely worth it.
